Do you still look at Las Vegas as the type of place where you might spend a romantic getaway with someone special or a fun place to visit with the girls? If you think that Vegas doesn’t offer more than enough for your family, think again. While some people still think of the casinos and nightclubs that line the streets, others know that Las Vegas is a great place to see with their kids. You’ll find plenty of things to do with both younger and older kids.

Nevada Ballet: Get your trip started off on the right foot with a visit to the Nevada Ballet. If your trip takes you to Vegas between December 14 and 22, you won’t want to miss their production of The Nutcracker. Remind yourself of just how much you once loved Christmas as you see the story told in a new and fun way. Even the most jaded of teens will find something they love about this show.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway: When NASCAR heads to town, fans wait in line for hours just to get into the track. If you assume that the track isn’t open during the holidays, you might be surprised at one of its upcoming events. This Christmas, the track transforms into an elegant winter wonderland thanks to the millions of lights on display. You can even honor your own family by sponsoring some of those lights.

Adventuredome: Who says that Vegas doesn’t understand adventure? At the Adventuredome theme park located inside Circus Circus, you’ll feel like a kid again. Whether you stay in the hotel, or you stay off The Strip, you’ll want to take time out of your busy day to hit this park with your kids. The park boasts the only indoor roller coaster with two loops and two corkscrews, but you’ll also find a few activities suitable for younger kids, including one of the largest video arcades in the city.

Cowboy Trail Rides: Get your little buckaroo excited about horses with a trip to Cowboy Trail Rides. Located not far from the heart of the city, this fully functioning ranch is a must for anyone who loves John Wayne and westerns. The wranglers working for the company will give you the low down on the ranch life, and you’ll also experience the amazing views of the Red Rock Canyon National Preservation Area.

New York, New York Hotel: Experience the best of New York City right outside your door when you book a room at the New York, New York Hotel. One look outside your window and you’ll feel like you’re right in the heart of the city. Check out the great roller coaster, enjoy the atmosphere of the big city and dine on an authentic Nathan’s Hot Dog without even leaving your hotel.

Those who think Las Vegas isn’t for family are travelers who haven’t visited in years. Thanks to some great attractions, hotels and local companies, you can now have the perfect family vacation right in the heart of Vegas.

  1. Great post! We are always letting people know that Vegas is family-friendly. It’s not the first place you’d think of for a family vacation but they really do have a lot to offer!
    Thanks again!
