My Photos on Instagram

#California you are so lovely. After reading this week’s @nytimes Oped about our #environmental #doomsdayclock by David Wallace Wells, I was reinvigorated to start working in my community to protect our #home. The question I keep returning to is HOW? If we focus on our #neighborhoods and #educating our #kids how should we prioritize? If #climatescience is accurate, this #beach in #carmel will have risen far past the houses that border these #tidepools. My first step is #educating my #children. What’s yours? #kidsenvironment #traveling #environmentalkids #earth #naturephotography #nofilter #globalguardians #protecttheplanet
What would make you do something to care for our #environment friends? This is what’s left of the #columbiaicefield #athabascaglacier in #canada. You can walk on it and drive on it, taking a gorgeous #journey to even fill a water bottle with fresh glacier water. In my lifetime, this glacier has retreated more than a mile and by the end of my kids’ lives, it might not be here any longer. I know #Instagram is about #prettypictures. But how do we get ourselves to wake up and starting becoming #changemakers ????? I’ve been working on a book project about #teaching my #kids about the #planet they will inherit through #travel by #exploring places that might not exist in their lifetimes. The second I tell someone this, they become despondent and tune out. How can I write about this and get people to care? #protecttheearth #environmentalscience #environmentalkids #futureearth #climatechange #climatechangeisreal
Pacman clouds eating up the #sky #rain is returning to #California this week. Our hills are the brightest green. Our flowers are popping out to say hi. The magnolia and jasmine are blooming. Though it’s cold, this is one of my favorites times of year in #norcal What’s your favorite way to spend a #rainy day when #traveling the globe? #travel #naturepix #nature #naturephotography #naturelovers #naturel #nature_photo #travelwriter #onassignment #earth #earthpix
